SADV feasibility study - Strand/Gordon's Bay

I see SADV updated their coverage map to indicate that the areas along the DFA live fibre in Strand and Gordon's bay ( https://signup.sadv.co.za/ ) are undergoing a feasibility study.

Over the past few months I've been nagging them constantly for this, since DFA fibre is rolled out already, and we just needed SADV to do their thing.

Does anyone have even the vaguest idea how long such a study takes? Are we looking at a couple of years before we have an answer, or could we have a Yes (or No) within this year still? Has anyone gone through this with them before now? I know that they previously only rolled out in complexes, but I am hoping that their new SADV Suburbia initiative might be a guideline, for those who live in a Suburbia-enabled are.

Thanks in advance.

Im sure that building will be covered. Maybe a map glitch. No reason why it shouldn't.

Just had a look at the estimated completion times, March 2019, 9 months, might as well get LTE in the mean time which I tested and got 40M down and 20M up

I am in the area between Strand and Gordon's Bay, on Gordon's Bay Drive, not covered by FrogFoot. Currently using LTE, but seriously hoping SADV can give a positive answer on their feasibility study soonish.

Thanks @OP. I'm in Bridgewater and the fibre infra runs a few meters from my house. Signed up.

Frustrating that the homeless at the train station a 300m from my house can get fibre but not us.

I don't see anything on the project system. I have mailed a colleague in CT for feedback.

We have not yet decided if we will be looking at strand as a suburbia rollout. Furthermore It looks as though it has been targeted by Frogfoot. So no plan in the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, for me at least, Frogfoot is targeting areas on either side of me, 1 street away on one side, and about a kilometer on the other side. I'm caught in the middle in a dead zone covered by no one. Even Telkom has already made it clear that the exchanges won't be upgraded beyond 4Mbps ADSL (and anyway, the cables for the properties around me were stolen) and they won't be installing fibre.
