I think I just heard on the SSBlitz channel (wasn't watching, it was on in the background) that the SAHARA ALL STARS XI lost against the schoolboys! Can't find the results on the net. Don't want to wait for the highlights cycle - anybody know if the schoolboys won? Embarrasing. :D

The 2009 SAHARA ALL STARS XI Team will once again be packed with
some of South Africa's all time greats that will include, amongst
others, Graeme Smith, Roelof van der Merwe, Jacques Kallis, Dale
Steyn,, Mkaya Ntini, Loots Bosman, Daryl Cullinan, Piere Joubert,
Gullam Bodi and Wayne Parnell to name but a few. Themba Bavuma,
last year's Man of the Match, and a St David's Marist Inanda 2008
Old Boy, will also be included in the ALL STARS XI

Yeah they did. Won in the last over. Pretty embarrassing performance from the big boys.

Thanks! lol  Not sure if it's a good thing with the Champion's Trophy coming up, but I suppose it was a festival match so can't read that much into it (or so they'll say). :D Highlights are coming up at 14:00, but I"ll be watching F1.

But if our schoolboys really are that good - it's awesome!

EDIT: But from the Proteas' warm up games, I read that Kallis is in awesome form (and Bouch finishing excellently too)

I watched the repeat broadcast. Some very promising young batsmen playing some fearless cricket against Proteas bowlers, Ntini, Parnell, Tsotsobe and Van der Merwe.

Also good w'keeping display - clear stumping not given.

Remember that these were only schoolboys from a few schools, I would really like to see a SA u/19 team playing in our domestic leagues. What they will lack on pace bowling department, will be compensated by their electric fielding and batting!
