Mybroadband down?

Has mybroadband been down for the last hour or so, or was there some sort of dns error?

Something to do with Verizon that went wrong. According to our ISP at least. Our mail and some other sites was also down.

Our ADSL has been buggy for the last couple of months.:mad::mad:

My Hetzner hosted domains where down for a while for a yet unknown reason. I know that MyAdsl is hosted with Hetzner so it probably was affected as well.

EDIT: Ok, it wasnt Hetzner but rather the network they use.

Hetzner told us it was problems with the JHB-CT peering link between Verizon and SAIX. I was doing my nut for an hour :D

I could not connect to anything on SAIX. Swicthed to Verison and some sites worked like MyADSL etc but could not get to the SAIX page.

bloody lusers almost ran riot here because of it
I might have to start using a tranquilizer gun on them (which would be a whole barrel of fun on it's own :D)

Can't say I blame them ... I would have welcomed a tranqulizer gun an hour ago :D

Is there not ways to prevent one link from affecting so much. Is it not possible for someone as big as Verizon to have a link to another ISP so that there is more than one route ?
