As per title, what do you think is a "decent" salary to be earning per age category. I know this is very much a "how long is a piece of string" question.

Personal Opinion

18 - 22 [5k - 11k]
23 - 27 [12k - 15k]
28 -32 [16k - 30k]
33+ [31K plus]

These amount are nett salary by a single person [after tax/provident/medical aid]

I'm sure we had a thread that discussed this in depth, too lazy to search for it now though.

Then yeah I suppose it looks accurate.

I don't think any of those salaries are 'decent', realistic maybe but not decent.

When were you 26? :)

I am basing these figures on the current market as I see it,

5 - 6 years ago these would be marked down considerably.

I suspect you may be right, should have tried to dig something up, although depending on the threads age, the information may not be relevant.

There are so many factors affecting this - education, location, demographic, company size etc.

Johannesburg, good degree, mid-large company, good salary (not the best, but not the worst):

18 - 22 [N/A - no degree]
23 - 27 [17k - 21k]
28 -32 [22k - 30k]
33+ [31K plus]

What profession?

My gf is a medical professional and she's been making 31k+ since she was 24 - that was 4 years ago.

I don't know about this. It depends heavily on the industry. I have been earning 31K plus since I were 25.

Started working when I was 24-25. At 28 I was netting about 15,500 pm (20,000 gross) 4 years ago. It's a lot more now, so there's nothing to feel disheartened about if you're stuck in the same boat. Taking on additional responsibilities to justify a big increase, or switching companies, or both - helps a lot...
