What lies from Dimension Data. They are currently going through a 189. Weak lying greedy leadership from DD
But that is not COVID related? That is related to the consolidation process, or have I missed something?

@Jamie McKane maybe add a row to indicate if the salary cut is paired with short time, like in the case of EOH.

@rpm your site is posting misleading information.

EOH: Was already in rut because of corruption scandals, they were already doing mass layoffs before COVID, remember talking with a classmate working there last year in November, 3/4 of his team had already left.
DD: They're a crap company and have been bleeding skilled employees due to low salaries and incompetent management
CellC: A company that's already been planning cuts/retrenchment and has been consistently doing so for years now.
AdaptIt: Same as EOH fall-out.

None of the companies that say they're retrenching or offering salary cuts are due to the COVID crisis, they're just jumping on the bandwagon and you should be calling them out on it instead.

Thanks for the feedback.

In this article we only reported what companies told us. We are planning to run a survey to gather information from employees, which may be more in line with what you are referring to.

You can't only report what companies told you at face value, they have a vested interest in making their company look better than it is.

A survey is a great idea - looking forward to it. It's a great way for people to share their views, and to get a view of what's going on out there beyond the company comments/press releases. Besides the obvious "how are you affected" / "how is your company dealing with stuff" questions, it would be interesting to also see people's views on whether company actions are justified, or whether they're exploiting the situation (excuse to get rid of people, save money by cutting salaries & claiming from TERS, etc).

To those who have had salary cuts with COVID being the reason, were your employment contracts updated to reflect as such?
  1. What happens in a situation where an employee's salary has been reduced (temporarily by management) but no update made to the contract and agreed to by both parties?
  2. Employee now wants to resign - is he entitled to the portion of the salary that was cut over the last x months?
  3. Is their leave pay paid out at full salary amount as per contract?

1. If hours were reduced to match, nothing. If not, the money is owed.
2. Depends on above.
3. Leave pay is as per contract.
