In a nutshell, it converts a standard telly into a smart TV but with added capability. I have essentially replaced my HTPC and DStv setup withe these units - they download torrents, Usenet, stream/playback in HD with 5.1 audio. My Neo X8 in the lounge is connected to a 3TB External Hard Drive source and it is essentially what my HTPC was before. It is connected via 100Mb LAN to my router and the bedroom X7, our phones, tablets (and the Ugoos in the Guest Room) stream all their content from it. Me and my brother even played PS1/DOS Emulated games over the network with these.

Here is a review of the Minix Neo X7 which uses the exact same hardware as the Ugoos.

So I could connect this to a screen or TV with an HDMI port and connect to my wireless network to stream wireless from my server? Can I install Plex on it?

Anything with an HDMI Port. I used it in the guest room to a 24" Monitor with an HDMI-DVI converter and a headphone jack for audio. I streamed to/from it using BubbleUPNP and it streamed fine from my Laptop running Universal Media Server.

Plex seems to have an Android app, so yes. It runs Kodi 14.1 at the moment
