Important information for solar power users in South Africa

Most households and businesses with grid-tied solar power in South Africa do not have to meet Eskom's onerous requirements, which have recently caused a public uproar.

Instead, they should peruse the official small-scale embedded generation (SSEG) policies of the municipality from which they buy their electricity to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Very few people are Eskom direct, everyone else can just flash Eskom a rigid middle digit and get on with their lives. you do not need anyones permission to properly install a solar system, most definitely not the swine running the country.

My fear is the weak or non-existent spine of the average middle and upper-class taxpayer in this country, and especially the private sector businesses.

I swear if the government told everyone they have to show up for a daily roll call at their nearest police station everyone would moan and groan but days later there would be guides and apps showing you the most efficient way to get up at 3-4AM so you can complete and submit your roll call attendance form before you start work.

I am. But I plan on doing those things anyway.
