Anybody had these before?

My submandibular gland under my jaw is swollen and I managed to pop one stone out of my gland exit under the tongue. Whole thing felt like it was spasming...

Waiting to find more stones...

They are calcium based - my mother recently had them, pushed out 6 little buggers...

swelling is subsiding and there is saliva movement now, so i think im in the clear.

Google has lots of cases but solutions and reasons why it happens are vague to say the least as nobody is certain. Its pretty ***, usually happens just after eating when the saliva builds up and cant get out. everything just swells, quite uncomfy..

How painful is it? Is it similar to the feeling of having mumps? You probably had mumps as a kid, so can't remember. :) I had mumps about 3 years ago, as an adult - not cool and very painful. :(

Recreational drugs involved with swelling just out interest?

haha no :p

Calcium buildup, apparently can occur from 2 much acidic stuff. Gets activated when you eat. Saliva builds up and cant get out, causing the pain, and can get infected to. Im gonna look for antibiotics just incase.

A very small amount of people are effected and usually only occurs between ppl aged 30-50.

Mine gland is still swolen, hope there arent any more stones, a little salivatory movement..

This looks like the type of thing I get from time to time. They are also known as tonsilolliths or tonsil stones. Usually I get a sore throat, and getting rid of those things always helps.
