Sally makes a unique body scrub, she makes it herself with ingredients bought locally.
She gave the body-scrub away to friends as Christmas /Birthday gifts. Her friends now love the body scrub and want to buy more body scrub from her.
Friends of Sally's friends also now have got wind and tested the product, and are also interested.

What is the next Step for Sally to officially start manufacturing this body scrub?
Specifically the legal parts - does she need to register somewhere that she is creating a health-product?
What tests must the product pass in order to be in a position that she can go to a pharmacy / beauty shop and say that this is her product and that they can but it from her?
Which companies offer these tests?
Is there a specific government dept , e.g. DTI that could assist Sally with more information?

She doesnt need to register anything, its easy to get stuff on supermarket shelves nowadays IF you can convince them to give you a trial run.Hell half the supplements at Dischem are so dodgy and very misleading and there is no regulatory body for that in RSA.

My advice is for Sally to setup a website, offer free samples and build up that market first and then only try and go the official find my product at x store route.

I'd suggest,
Trying to find a lawyer of some sort to find out..
There must be some legal parts that need to be cleared first, I'm sure.

There is, but its honestly not that difficult to get a product cleared especially a natural product that you described.Dont get me wrong, its going to cost money, but what doesnt nowdays huh:eek:

I'd suggest doing some business on Bid or Buy and getting all her friends and family to buy there so she can build some rep.If the products are that good, then woman will want it...
