Samsung 16:9 not displaying 16:9 on dstv, Why?

Why does my samsung series 3 (32") 1024X 720 not show (most) movies on dstv in full screen.?
It still has the black bars top/bottom.
Have tried all the settings on tv remote.

Can anyone help?

The problem lies with DSTV and not your TV. There are only a handful of WS channels. Mainly 102 and some of the BBC channels. I normally use the zoom setting on my Samsung 5 series although this seems to effect the quality a bit.

Some of the channels also have these horizontal broken white lines from the the top left to more or less the middle of the screen, not on the picture , but on the black bar.
Is this also THEM?

I also get those !@#$%^&* annoying broken lines when in 4:3 letterbox view - they go away if I select 4:3 full-screen. If you have a fix, please don't restrict it to PM!

Haha Samsung
