It usually takes longer, because your network provider (Vodacom, MTN, Telkom, etc...) are the ones that roll it out after samsung has released it.

Users can use their fingerprint to log into certain websites and apps. The feature will soon be expanded to support mobile banking apps.
I already did this on the FNB app with Marshmallow.

Still nothing for my S7 edge.
I think you'll be waiting quite a while for the SA networks to add in their logos, apps and animations etc.

I did the flash to British 6.0.1 BTU firmware a couple of days ago and got the OTA update immediately on start up. It really is worth it imo for many improvements and just the general feel.

So not sure if I'm putting this in the right place.

This morning I went through the 291mb update and after it did it's thing I am still on Android 6.0.1. What did I do wrong? How can I reinstall the update manually? (on MTN)

MTN hasn't released nougat yet. It's only been released in a few coup for unbranded phones. Look at the s7 thread and you will find instructions on installation if you want to install the British one like most of us have.
