Samsung launching MicroLED TVs — with prices up to R3 million

Samsung has revealed it will launch a MicroLED TV range in South Africa next year with sizes ranging between 76 and 126 inches.

The company's consumer electronics director for South Africa, Michael van Lier, said prices for Samsung's MicroLED TVs would range from R1.5 million to R3 million.

I am proud to say that they will be the most expensive TVs. They range from R1.5 million and R3 million depending on size,” Van Lier said.

What The **** kind of approach is this? Who's the target market for that?

I think Samsung make one of the best TVs in the world right now - albeit, they're pretty damn expensive.

If you can't afford it, you can drop to LG C series which probably offer better value
Maybe right now, but they sure as hell didn't 4-5 years ago. The LED diffuser caps started falling off in my TV 3 years ago, right after the warranty expired. Looked it up and it is (was?) a big problem across multiple different ranges of Samsung TV's because of the adhesive they had used to stick them on.

Because of this, I refuse to buy another Samsung again. Their after sales support is just terrible.

You should have checked if your credit card extended the warranty.

Yea I had two issues (H7000 and Q7F) - and the H7000 was actually *out* of warranty. They both were replaced. As far as support goes, I’ve been happy.

But I think next I’ll look at an LG
