I bought a Samsung Galaxy Trend Neo (G313H Dual SIM) at Incredible last year. Yesterday it told me there was an update, so I allowed it continue.

Since then it reboots every few minutes.

I tried a hard reset of the phone, but it didn't help.

It makes me really angry ! Should we all stop updating our phones now ?

Is there no option to reset the phone to original software?

No. The hard reset wiped all the apps and settings. But, before I could set it up again, it rebooted. So it's clearly still broken.

Maybe Samsung didn't do it. The world would be in uproar if they did.

Could be your internet connection flipped a few bits...?

A good update system will check for accidental damage. In fact, a good update system will also check for malicious tampering using digital signatures.

Yes, I'll reflash using odin.

Normally it does a checksum before its installed to avoid this.

Indeed.

But as you know, checksums are not foolproof. Flip a bit this way and another that way such that the checksum checks out. It happens.
