samsung download speed???

hi guys,

i've got a not so bright brother that does not understand the difference between connection speed and download speed. he believes that the connection speed of 480kbps is the speed of download... even though he has a d600! which should download at 45kbps max (am i correct)

i have the samsung p910, which is 3g and connects at 230kbps, whats the difference.

can some1 please explain the difference, so that i can tell him in laymans.

Well it looks as if the d600 has EDGE so it connects at roughly 230kbps and the p910 is 3G so it'll connect at 384kbps. The connection speed that is shown when you connect is just the port speed and doesn't really mean anything either way.

Thats just the port speed the device connects to the pc. Do a speed test.

I have EDGE and my DL speed is 46 kbps and UL is 41kbps. Is this good or bad seeing we are experiancing bad weather atm.?
