the S4 is also a good deal at TM

It is!!

With the 5GB data add-on, no other service provider can match them.

It seems Telkom Mobile is the only service provider who understands that a smartphone lives on data.

You will be very happy with your Note 2, I promise!

Its THE most awesome phone I have ever owned.

The biggest attraction to me was the non-pentile display, and it did not disappoint.

Its simply fantastic.

The confirmed deals are below:

• Smartplan 100 contract with 5GB Telkom Mobile network only data at R499.00 monthly or
• Completely Unlimited contract at R1599 monthly

All stores should have these deals and stock tomorrow as delivery is for today.

Telkom Mobile

Okay these prices are way too much. I'm out...already spending over R1700 on comms, and don't want to commit over R12k over the next 24 months for a device that will only be the "latest" for the next 11 months before it gets replaced and will be "old" for the remaining 13 months.

Time to start seriously considering the alternatives, Note2 or maybe iPhone...
My S4 is still good.

Oh, and TM, most of your stores are still in the dark regarding this offer and stock availability.

Is it the LTE model (N9005)?

I think since you messed us around for so many days you should give us all free Gear watches with our Note 3 contracts :D ...like Vodacom did :whistling:

Nope it is the N9000 as far as I am aware, N9005 LTE model does not support the TM LTE Band 40, ie 2300 mhz. See more info here on LTE Freq/bands.

Why Telkom Mobile went with some obscure band they will only know? If you look world wide very few networks are using it. What does it mean, you will struggle to find devices, well at least currently. Maybe they know something we don't.

I know it has something todo with lack of spectrum but still, why? Make no sense to me...

Careful with Cell C, depending on where you stay might battle on the network.

I went to Alberton and Festival Mall, they don't even know about this deal!

This is really rubbish service from Telkom Mobile... Thanks for wasting my time driving there!

I couldn't get through to Telkom in Gateway, phone keeps ringing.

Signed up with Vodacom since I wanted the LTE version. Oh well, getting the contract for the phone as I have a work issued SIM already but the extra data would have been helpful in my iPad.

Can Telkom respond to the query about this being the 9000 or 9005 version. Further, is there any provision for the LTE range should the 9005 version be on offer?

I was about to sign up for an MTN contract, but the data bundle is well...sad!

Telkom Mobile is selling the Exynos Chipset one.

Sheesh... Guess at that pricing, telkom's out for me..

Still better value for money than any of the other service providers.

Quickly calculate how much you'll pay extra to bolt-on a 5GB data bundle to your smartphone contract. ;)

was hoping it would be more inline with the S4 deal which is R369 incl 5gb...
That said Ive been seriously considering it, but I really cant justify spending R500 on phone just to get 5gb data when I already 4 other "data" contracts with the same provider and use wifi at home and work...

That's why I went with the Note 2 and Smart 150 + 5GB data for R299. ;)

To me it's all about value for money.

Yeah, no one said it wasn't the best deal. But it's not the LTE version and I need to use the phone on MTN LTE. The data was for my ipad.
