It was Dominatrix that had the missing option.

And you are so right, this phone is in another class completely. Not really fair to compare it to any other phone from any manufacturer.

When it was time to upgrade I tried to compare all these phones and came to the conclusion the NOTE 4 is just better than all. The features that come standard are very good in aiding productivity. The Adaptive Fast Charging for instance has made a huge difference. I never have to worry about my phone having low battery. 30 minutes and it's half full.

It depends what your needs/wants are. For sound quality, it's unfair to compare the Note 4 to anything else yes because it's ****. The Xperias, htc and Motorolas blow it out of the water. Speaking of water, for underwater photography or watching YouTube in the shower, it's completely useless.

For fitting in small pockets, it's not that great. One handed use, not so great either. Battery life is much worse than previous Notes, and far, far worse than the Sony phones.

But.. as an old-skool smartphone (i.e. for actually doing stuff with and organising your life, having a PC in your pocket), it is the best. Samsung is the only manufacturer that understands the point of a huge-screen phone. The others just take normal phones and make them unusably big and cumbersome.

Ive read through most of the posts here and i just cant make up my mind regarding flashing my note 4. Im going to get it through vodacom so its going to have alot of vodacom stuff on the phone. How much different is the NK4 BTU rom from the vodacom version? Whats diffrent? This might be a noob question but why would one override the firmware? See it like this : i am new to this and i want you to convince me that, should i do it, wil i really experience the phone differently?

Basically.. Getting rid of the Vodacom crap, and having access to the latest, insignificant, won't-even-notice-unless-you-read-the-patch-notes features.

No, you won't experience the phone differently. But you'll convince yourself that you do.

Unless it really is a major update, like the upgrade to Lollipop.

I have to disagree on a number of points.

Battery life: friend of mine has had both the 2 and 3, he had great batt. life but not this good with continuous usage, I know as there has been a few vac nites we've done where we depend on his phone, and we have done the same recently with my 4, its far more efficient with heavy Camera usage especially.

I personally use my Note 4 one handed, I have become very used to it and like the heft of it.

As you said, depends on needs and wants.

*Cancel your contract and move to prepaid
*Sell your S4 and buy a LG G3(locally or on orange), it is the cheapest flagship
*Wait till April next year, that is when new flagships are released
*Port ur number to Telkom mobile and get a contract with 1gb of data as standard.

I predict some exciting things happening. Samsung is losing marketshare so they are redesigning the S range. HTC is ditching the crappy camera on the M9 and Sony will be refreshing their designs. All 2015 flagishs will have QHD displays and 64bit processors.Oh and htc is collaborating with Bose on the M9,i think sound quality will improve

Agree on all point, except battery life. This is by far the best battery life phone that I have owned. I had the S2, S4, Note 3 and now the Note 4. The Note 4's battery is exceptional. To compare it, the S5's battery was supposed to be "so good" because of all the efficiency changes that Samsung made. It would be at around 40-50%, at around 14h30 in the afternoon. Admittedly I have installed a schit load of battery inefficient apps. Install all the same apps on my Note 4, and by the time I live the office at 15h30 I would easily be at the 80% mark. My note 3 wouldn't do that. Note 3 was probably a little better than the S5, but nothing as good as the Note 4.

I agree with your points except the battery life. The battery life on my note 4 is better than the battery life on my note 2.

I find the battery life to be very similar to note 3. Some days when I get home, about 17:30 it's got about 20-15% left. From full charge in the morn, not a great difference from 3

I take it off charge at 7:00am, leave home at 7:20am, use it for music in the car and at work, WhatsApp, FB, Twitter and a few phone calls, leave work at around 4:15pm, again use it for music in the car, get home at around 5:30pm and usually still have around 75-80% battery left, I am often connected to WiFi at home and at work.

I'm not getting anything near that. Can you post a screen shot of your bat usage at the end of the day?

Does anyone know why vodacom can only get the N910F note 4 and not the C version?

They got the F as far as I know due to its modem supporting LTE Cat.6, which if I am not mistaken is the new LTE category they are updating their network to support.

Or it's just because they always only get one version, at least initially.

Did they start offering the Exynos Note 3 last year? From what I noticed, with the S3 and S4 they 1st offered Exynos due to S3 only coming in Exynos internationally initially with the LTE coming later in the year, with the S4 they 1st got Exynos due to Samsung only bringing Exynos into SA but later brought Snapdragon, after that with the Note 3, S5 and Note 4, they seem to stick with Snapdragon only.
