Small question guys. Since my phone updated to 5.0.1 battery life has gone down a bit, and going through the battery monitor, I see the phone is awake all the time.... Is this normal? Have you noticed decreased battery life?

I have noticed it as well. But I will be flashing back to Android 4.4.4 soon, due to the "emergency calls only" issue alot of people are having on Vodacom.

If you live in an area with poor reception or travel through such areas, switch off the scanning for 4G. The phone will sleep a lot more and battery life will improve dramatically.

Recent Note 5 gossip indicates little advancements over Note 4. Think by Note 5 launch time, Note 4 will be good value deal to extend my 24 month MTN contract (exp . June 15) and upgrade Note 2 to Note 4. Noob question but which Note 4 chip set do MTN support?

Aren't MTN pushing out 5.0.1? They pushed updates for the first while with Note 2. Not same with Note 4?

Also noticed Lag and Camera issues sometimes pops up, device also seems to get a bit hot..
I also experienced some lag after the Lollipop upgrade. A factory reset solved the issue for me. Running smoothly ever since. Currently using boc3 from the Netherlands on my 910f.

Using POF2 based ROM from XDA N910F forum. Love it, no lag at all. With Echoe Kernel. The Note 4 is a machine of note (hehe)

I was on the German BOC3 FW, but flashed the Nordic NEE POF2 FW today, lets see how it goes. BOC3 was good, but not great.

Still considering a new Note. No further Android ("M6"?) updates on cards for SG5 as it is past 2yr service agreement. So would a Note4 be a wise choice? Not liking prospects of expensive Note 5 glass uni body.

Eh!? The SG5 came out last year, its only just over a year old now, best believe it will be getting updates until late 2016. It should get 5.1.1 after the Note 4.

You cannot go wrong with a Note 4, runs beautifully with the Snapdragon 805 not heating up unlike the 808 and 810 based phones. It is STILL the best Phablet around with the most unique feature set; WACOM Digitzer, SPen suit, and SPen, and a stunning display with great battery life, I am getting 6-7hous Screen On Time consistently with over 12hours off charge. I take it off charge at around 7:30am, and use it for Email (2 gmail accounts and 1 outlook), WhatsApp, FB, Twitter, Instagram, Web browsing, around 10mins worth of voice calls, and the daily app updates. Only put it on charge at around 10:30pm, and it is at around 25%-30%, depending on usage.

I fully recommend it, if you do not mind the sizes. People who say it cannot be used one-handed clearly haven't used it long enough.

Thanks Tzeps. Will likely wait for Note 4 contract deals before / around launch of Note 5.

Heating of the 808? Nope. No over heating on my G4.

Must say, thoroughly enjoying the POF2 FW, the phone barely uses power in stand by, it seems to stay in Deep Sleep longer.

Hey there guys....

anyone here got the 910H? I am now stuck with this device... it doesnt have damm LTE!!! and I see there are some XDA threads about flashing the 910H with 910C firmware and stuff to get the LTE working.. apparently the 910C and 910H is EXACT devices including the hardware and modems.. just the 910C is launched as the LTE version and the 910H as a 3G variant... why in the hell would Samsung do this with the exact same hardware devices? I am sure this could be sorted hey??

here is the link:

Oh and about the Lollipop 5.0.1 upgrade... I have been having so many issues with my device.. apps constantly hanging, especially FB, and lag on the device is also noticeable... so do you think a hard reset would change this?
