Samsung Galaxy S2 or Iphone 4

Well, I am pretty sure Android stole a few things from iOS as well. Anyway the notication bar doesnt look or do that much good on my iPad in anycase. Am sure they will need to refine it a bit

yes, I'm sure Android did steal a few things, it's interesting that it's on ipads and not android based tablets though.

I was playing with the iPad 2 as well and it's a very nice device, very responsive and pleasing to use if you only want to do basic things like browse and email.

With regard to the iPhone and the SGS2, one of the main differences is the feel of the 2 devices.

The iPhone feels solid and heavy like a premium device which is a huge problem when it comes to durability, if you drop this phone even with a bumper, expect it to shatter.
The SGS2 feels surreally light and has a plastic feel to it but this adds a huge amount of durablity, the plastic although it feels cheap, reduces the weight and adds some flexability, the lighter the device, the less energy the impact will have when it falls, it also has Gorilla glass which makes it one of the more durable phones, the iPhone4 & 4S is definitely one of the most fragile.

That leaves me with one concerning question.

When someone buys an Apple device, they pay a premium price for what seems to be a premium device.

So why then did Apple not use Gorilla glass in it's iPhone4 line? they had the choice but went for cheaper & more fragile glass, why would such a premium device have such a cheap screen?

Agreed, I think at the start of the thread before it turned into a fan war, most people were recommending either the iphone 4s or the galaxy s2, the normal iphone 4 really can't compare at all to the s2.

Oh we have had line's just not for phones. I remember back in 2005 me and some friends where standing in cue for a midnight release of some game at BT games Northgate. Well we where there for Rage so was not really a camping expedition like you find in the US but it still was a cue to try and be the 1st.

Also remember the same BT games having midnight cue for consoles and other games back then. Dont know if it sill happens but I suspect something like WOW Cata had a cue.

It still happens. We went to BT Games for the midnight launch of MW3. Then jammed till 6AM

Two more ignorant fanbois of the highest order found guilty. An inferior phone with double the PPI than your forefront of cutting edge technology, with screen size used as the basis or argument. Ask the users if they're unhappy. Ask iPhone 3GS users running iOS5 if they're unhappy. Until then this is nothing but the usual circle jerk fest.

Different things appeal to different people. I for one prefer even my 2 year old Desire to even an iPhone 4 as it can do more, but like I said its a personal thing, and yes I was so unhappy with my 3GS that I even bought a Desire.

Only reason I now own a iPhone 4 is because my work paid for it (used for testing apps and support). Oh and most of the time the iPhone is lying in the drawer.

I'm also still really enjoying my desire but I think a root is a must for this phone, htc bloatware slows it down quite a bit and also munches battery
