I am having issues using Chinese-made Bluetooth audio receivers. Listing to music works, Voice Dialling, DTMF sounds and other call notifications all have proper audio, with the exception of the actual call itself. I cannot hear the ringing tone of the party I am calling and during the call they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them.

So far this issue occurs with 2 different Chinese-made Bluetooth audio receivers. The same receivers work fine with other handsets (HTC, Sony, Apple). My phone works when I tested it with a Bluetooth earpiece and my Wife's FordSYNC Bluetooth system.

I came across a possible solution on XDA but for some reason I cannot get into option 5 ([5] AUDIO) on the Service Menu lading page. Whether I tap on the option or use Key Input to select item 5, it briefly looks like it is entering the option but revers back to the Service Menu landing page. Consequently, I cannot attempt the fix.

Any thoughts? Running SlimKAT 4.4.2.build.5 stable.

Just installed CM11 KitKat M8 Snapshot on my S2. It's like a brand new phone! Using half the RAM of Stock 4.1.2 and very smooth.

I have been on the Slimkat website and I see the Bluetooth is an issue on this rom.

I changed to Slimkat from Ressurection and found better battery life but now its put its own boot recovery program which has taken out my root access.

Can't be. They base their updates on your phone having root. Something else is wrong.

I remember having this issue... root is almost turned off by default... can't remember where you can "set it on" again... its hidden somewhere, took me forever to find it...

Thank you lcbxx it worked 100%. You saved me from alot of stress.

OGroteKoning and fanie.dry you guys are right.

This rom has taken out ClockworkMod Recovery and put in its own Boot recovery program which I find terrible to use. Regarding the root access I was trying to freeze those annoying cell broadcasts with Titanium Backup. Superuser working properly now.

Decided to boot up my ol' GS2 today, man, using this phone gets one wondering if one REALLY needed that large screen with however many million res, bizillion core cpu and trillion core gpu plus and so on and so forth, still such a pleasure to use, still so fast, smooth and fluid and the display is still so eye popping, maybe I should load a Custom ROM, bring it up to KitKat as it is currently on the latest Nordic stock 4.1.2 ROM.

exactly. I still use mine to this day. No need for a costly contract to get the latest gadget, when my s2 still runs like a champ and gets more attention than anything else lol. Seriously, people think this phone looks amazing, i have the white s2.

I've also got the white GS2 :) it is indeed a stunning phone, stick with your GS2 if you're still happy with it, there isn't much that most modern Androids do that the GS2 can't.

There is the Samsung S5 Mini for if your S2 dies or you want something just a bit better:

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6252&idPhone2=3621

Positives:
1,5GB RAM vs 1GB
Higher resolution screen
Close in screen size (4.5 vs 4.3), so not too big
Natively has Kitkat version OS
Quad core
Longer battery life hopefully due to ~25% more battery capacity

Negatives:
No radio

Pretty much a S2 that's slightly better.
