Agree fully with you even dumped CM 11 to SlimKat stable and very happy. Don't think things will get any better than that for the S2 with CM12 but lets hope.

I'm currently on Slimkat Rom for stability best around you probably want that GPS fix mentioned in this thread as well with a heavy duty battery if you can find one.

Speaking of batteries. Where can I find a good battery for my S2.

Still in good working order but my second (non original part) battery only lasts half a day. It stops working when it says 30% life left over.

Thanks.

Have you calibrated that battery?

Nope. I have no idea how it is done let alone that it has to be done.

If you have a link I would be happy to look it up and I will try it as soon as I can lay my hands on a new battery.

Thanks

Search on Play Store for any battery calibration app. Basically just start the app and when the phone is fully charged you hit the calibrate button. The fact that your phone switches off at 30% seems to me like the phone is not calibrated to your current battery levels. Might not do anything though.

Thanks. Will try with the old battery but I think it is gone.

It charges from dead to full in an hour.

Otherwise I will do it with the new battery.

Can anyone confirm that Lollipop is running smoothly now. When it first came out I tried it, but downgraded to CM11 again.

I can confirm that Marshmallow, CM13, runs super awesomely. I have a new phone, again.

Nice. Is it faster than CM12? My phone froze often with 12 on, so I am back on 11. If 13 is better I will go to that.

Did you have to install a different Gapps package?

So I downloaded CM13 and the pico GApps package. Reboot into recovery and install CM13. GApps fails due to lack of memory. Which is weird. Tried clearing everything, still couldn't install it. So I boot into CM13, set up the phone and it looks nice. Reboot into recovery, and now I cannot install anything. Immediately just says failed. Seems the CM13 recovery cannot mount the system partition so you cannot access any files. So I am stuck.

Trying to get Odin going now to flash a different recovery and see if I can get it working, otherwise it is back to CM11.
