The Samsung Galaxy S21 is coming. Here's everything we know so far:

Samsung’s next flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S21 series, will launch globally on January 14th, Android Authority is reporting

S-Pen looks set to be supported on the S21
*Update:Samsung confirms stylus support is coming to Galaxy phones like the S21

Does this lend credence to reports they're killing off the note?
Samsung now officially confirmed the S21 devices will support the S-Pen so I think the Note Series is getting killed off, why add the S-Pen to the S21 and still keep Note Series

S Pen supported. Does it mean it has an S pen or it has software to allow an s pen to be used.

The way i see it (In short,)
That it means that S21 will have the S pen software "baked " into the Samsung Firmware ,
but "hidden "until activated by a Samsung S pen .
You will have to buy the S pen separately ( accessory )
Also read that it's speculated that S21 won't include a charger ,meaning that you will have to buy one !!

Further to make more money,
it seems that the new Galaxy Fold will include the S pen
Don't forget , that the Samsung Fold, cost much more than a Galaxy Note ...!!!
Samsung way of making more money .....!!!!!
Good luck .

I am a Note user for many years and chose a Note only for the fact that it has a S Pen.

Having a phone that can use a S Pen but does not have a S Pen nor a place to store it on the phone is dof (my opinion).

As soon as Samsung's cheapest, most entry level phone is better than my old S8 I'll buy it.
Heck this may be the case already.
There are way too many models to keep track what is what.

I'm also a Note user since the Note 2......
I currently have the Note 20 5G Ultra and use the Spen 80% of time,
(when I'm interacting with my phone.)

I also have a Tablet S6 lite with Spen functions.
The S pen is loose /magnet. (No slot.)
However, I still enjoy using my loose tablet, S pen and its functionalities.
as much as I do when using the Note 20 Spen.

I believe that with S 21, you will be able to buy
a phone cover/case that has a dedicated Spen slot.
So overall it's no big deal.
For me, it's not the phone that matters, it's the Spen and it's functionalities.
Good luck

agreed,
trying to copy apple with one-up manship.
and multiple cameras and stuff you dont actually need.

got to sell people something new all the time, even if they perfectly happy with an ancient phone.

This is the way I see it........
Samsung takes away the Note range.
Then, Samsung will apparently, include Spen in the Galaxy Fold series. (that cost much more than the Note series)
Maybe... hoping that the Note users, now will buy the Fold series
(Samsung big profit)

Then they take the S series (eg S21.)
include Spen software into the firmware.
Maybe... hoping you will now buy a Spen separately and on top of that to store
your Spen, will buy their Samsung phone case /case with dedicated
Spen slot
On top of all this,
you also most probably, have to buy a phone charger, as strong rumors, are that there is no phone charger included with S21....

Samsung Market strategy..... Big profits..?
( Squeezing, you to fork out more money!)
Good luck.

if you buy a phone on Contract, makes perfect sense,
same thing with apple, sell you a new phone all the time,
otherwise why buy another phone if your existing phone is perfectly adequate.

they have to generate Demand all the time and new features nobody wants,
they have to SELL them to you, somehow.

see why I enjoy rooting and modifying a ancient phone,
keep an old phone going for a lot longer than this forced upgrade companies try to push onto us all the time.

call me old school, but isn't it better to keep an old phone going that buying a new phone every year?

As long as I can store the flippen S Pen somewhere without losing it then I will give it a thumbs up.

Being ADD is a problem and not losing my S Pen for 8 years is a major achievement. During this period I must have lost more than 20 good ballpoint pens.

I trust everybody understand my frustration. If it wasn't for the S Pen slot in my phone and the alert if I leave it somewhere then I would have lost the S Pen many times.

Samsung....... marketing ploys

When I read this I nodded in silence (to myself)
This type of behavior from OEM's / service providers, etc etc has gotten, completely out of hand.!
Yet, these companies, state they value your privacy.?
Further,
what is alarming, is the author states that, Samsung must have installed this
as a background app without his knowledge.?

link to article with heading
Samsung just updated one of its phone apps to serve you even more ads

Quote from article.......

" Yesterday morning, I had a push notification for Visit In show up on my $2,000 Galaxy Z Fold2. My incredibly expensive phone wants to track my location to serve me ads so it can sell me even more products. We've called Samsung out for its dubious advertising practices before, but installing an app in the background without user consent and then sending a push notification to get you to use it is frankly offensive. No doubt some unsuspecting users will absent-mindedly sign up for it. I hope Samsung changes their tune quickly with the Galaxy S21 series coming up, because serving ads on ultra-expensive flagships is really not a good look."

Good luck to all..

I think this is a fair move.
Perhaps they should offer both versions?
One with the headphones and charger and one without?
I'd think they are doing their small part in generating less e-waste.

When you buy a cellphone, it is given, that you need a charger, so either they supply a suitable unit or you go and buy one. Without a charger, a cellphone is about as useful as tits on a boar.

Well, I currently own a Samsung device and will most likely upgrade to a Samsung device, so the charger thing will not be a big deal. I already have one so why should I need a new one.
The only problem will be is when you sell your phone second hand and you cannot include the charger because you need to use it again.
