I believe its similar to 6.1.1 but with 2 things missing , the live wallpaper weather thingy and something else - They got rid of Smart Select I liked that feature
:crying: Yes there is the new AI Smart select but it doesnt work the same and you cant capture GIFs anymore as well

Yes. And if you go to your phone Settings, there should be a Galaxy AI header, but not on my phone.

I had that before the update yesterday I see the other thing we dont get is the Galaxy health thing - compared to the S23 its 1 item less and 2 items less than the S24 not bad for support for a 2 year old phone
 
Anyone know how to get Astroportrait on the S22 Ultra?
Its currently on the S24, under expert raw

I'm considering buying a preowned S22 plus.

Are you experiencing any overheating issues?

I also read about some people experiencing bootlooping issues on the S22 and apparently it's a hardware issue. Has that happened to anyone?

I have the ultra for over 2 years and no issues , battery still going strong

Phone is about 3 years old. I did not upgrade at the start of 2024 when my 2 year contract ended.

No problems with the phone from my side.

My S22 Ultra is 2.5 years old and will be kept in the cupboard as a spare once I buy my S25 Ultra.
 
Hi everyone, I bought a 2nd hand S22 Ultra last week and having endless network issues on Telkom Mobile, the same SIM worked (and still works) perfectly in my old Note20 Ultra, any idea what could be causing the issue?

I know that when I set the phone up there was some Vodacom bloatware and in the wallpapers menu I see there are Vodacom wallpapers.

It mostly doesn't work, sometimes I need to toggle on airplane mode to get it to register on the Telkom network or play around with Network Operators menu, the connection is always intermittent. Other than the network issue the phone works just fine.

you need to see if it was network locked IMHO
 
How would I check? If I go to the 'Network Operators' menu and toggle select automatically, I can see all the different Networks, it even registers on the Telkom network. But the connection is intermittent.

Thanks, not getting that message as in the post to referred to. I think I'm going to go and buy a Voda a SIM tomorrow and test it out.

I doubt that it's network locked. There was an update that removed the network lock and added eSIM functionality to the Vodacom phones.

Trying it with a different SIM card and network is a good idea. Mine has worked fine with a Telkom mobile eSIM in the past.
 
So it was an issue with the device it seems, returned it and put in a bit extra for a a S23 Ultra. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
 
Selling my old S22 if anyone is intrested, can't post in clasifieds as people have been selling contract phones which this clearly is not.
