Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra

its thinner but its totally stupid because you sacrifice mostly just battery life because they cant fit a fullsize battery in this form factor - and even if Samsung adopted Silicon Carbon technology the batteries would be way smaller capacity than anything else they produced

as a concept its just a poorer cousin of the rest of the S25 series in terms of functionality and IMHO you will eventually find it having heating problems because they wouldn't really be able to cool that fast CPU very efficiently for very long

if i was going to spend around that amount of money i would rather go with the S25 Ultra or with the S25+ which basically only sacrifices a now almost useless S-Pen anyway (granted the S25+ does not have the 200mp Camera sensor But if taking photos was your job and you needed a great camera you wont be using a phone for the purpose) - and with those full size phones you don't sacrifice anything ..... you only just need to carry a marginally heavier phone - i don't see a problem with that since we have literally been doing that for years now without issue

this phone is kind of a nod to the idiots who say they want something lightweight to suit their lifestyle but they are lying to themselves because at the end of the day even the show-offs will want the Ultra anyway to show everybody "hey I can afford a phone that's too expensive for you to buy" (sole purpose of Apple phones nowadays since apple functionality has become inferior to the top Android phones)

I suppose that it entirely depends on what these phones are made from BUT to me thinner gives the impression of being more FRAGILE but i could be entirely wrong ...... though i suppose that time will tell when a few people land up sitting with their phones in their back pockets ...... so lets wait and see

Titanium body, most phones are aluminium (much weaker)

Is the S25+ from Vodacom dual sim? And if yes do they allow you to use the dual sim?
Most of the flagship Samsung devices in South Africa since the S21 (maybe earlier) have been dual Sim.

And yes they allow sim 2 to be any network. Not sure about sim 1.

Lets look at that list of cons and address those :

1) IP69 is something different and it relates to water jets ie it can survive being sprinkled with jets of water - so the phone actually needs the IP68 rating as well ..... and the IP69 rating is more for phones in specialised circumstances - it doesn't extend IP68's functionality but rather coexists with it and IP68 is still the highest dust and water repelling rating a phone can get

as for the laughable contention that iphones can be submerged deeper ...... yes sure they can BUT can you talk or hear underwater and exactly what difference does this make ..... and the only practical answer to that is that it means dustschit ie it makes no discernible difference to the functionality and usability of a phone as a phone and pointing it out is an insult to anyone's intelligence because it implies that somewhere out there, there is someone who thinks that this is going to make a difference as if we could actually use these farking things underwater ...... so why should they be with us underwater? the entire concept is a load of bull - a guy goes deep sea diving should not be carrying a phone or any other non necessary electronic equipment with him - besides how does one extra metre of depth make a practical difference to any submerging under water ..... this point is total bull feaces

2) small battery ...... well yes - if someone wants something smaller then parts of it need to be made smaller hence why one of the biggest things in a phone which is a battery will be smaller ...... using newer tech is a possibility BUT Samsung has had issues in the past with phones overheating and exploding or bursting into flames so they take a more cautious approach now and stick to the tried and tested - sure they can be more adventurous but even if one units battery overheats all of a sudden this becomes a worse PR nightmare than them being tentative and conservative in this respect

3) speakers - well duh you want something smaller ...... speakers need space to create the sound - you cant get bass from a speaker the size of a tweeter - so again its a space matter - it wont be good sound unless you connect to external larger speakers and then it should in theory sound as good as any other Samsung made unit

4) again somebody wanted a smaller body for the phone which means compromise in most departments - effective cooling needs heatsinks, fans or vapour chambers or a combination of those) possibly all of those, to be extremely effective all of those will get smaller in a smaller bodyshell - so to prevent things from getting really uncomfortable to hold in your hand or pocket they do need to throttle the speeds that the phone will run at ..... again all normal and logical

5) Camera - smaller body holds fewer lenses - why then try to use the 200mp unit some of the smaller capacity cameras on the non ultra models do a decent job - could have used one of those to cut costs and also have included a telephoto lens ..... i agree this one wasn't well thought out BUT this phone is apparently an experiment to see if something like this could be a permanent fixture in the range eventually and it will obviously take some time to iron out the kinks in the concept

6) pricing ..... everybody and their dog knows by now that making things smaller will make them more expensive UNLESS they have been living under a rock for the last 50 years or so so for me this all par for the course

under different circumstances i would have probably enjoyed the concept of this phone BUT as it stands Samsung as well as Apple are just taking advantage of their customers - and providing goods that are more of a want rather than being a need - i would love my phone to be lighter in weight as well as smaller to hold but just as fully functional as any other flagship out there BUT IMHO if the company starts making this thing to just tick a box and fleece unsuspecting customers then its a huge no from me and i would stick to the comparatively massive ultra instead
