Really, who wouldn’t want to own a Samsung Galaxy S3 or a smartphone of its caliber? An old, familiar face is claiming that the yet-unreleased handset has reached ten million pre-orders, a number that may likely rise in the coming weeks.
That old, familiar face is none other than Eldar Murtazin, a tech blogger who is always outspoken, often controversial, yet often right with his industry-specific posts and tweets. Murtazin brought up the ten million figure in a Twitter conversation with one Jan Ole Suhr, and if such a proclamation is accurate, this means the Galaxy S3 just might double the sales figures of its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S2. With all that to consider, one would have to wonder when the Galaxy S3 will finally see the light of day in retail stores. So far, the consensus has vacillated between an April and May release date. Those who believe in an April launch cite an interview by a Samsung China official stating that he would prefer the Galaxy S3 to be launched this month rather than next. And those who think the latter is more realistic rely on a leaked S3 image showing the date May 22, 2012 and time 7 PM on the display. This happens to be the confirmed schedule of an upcoming Samsung event, but the South Korean company has yet to comment on its purpose.
Aside from the recent tweet on the astounding pre-order numbers, Murtazin has also tweeted in the past that the Galaxy S3 will feature a ceramic body design influenced by Rado watches. A month ago, he mentioned Galaxy S3 pre-orders having reached the highest ever mark in the history of the Galaxy series.
