"Virgin Mobile said that they have not received formal confirmation yet from Samsung, but added that they expect to launch the device in early April 2013."

I can't wait!! Only a month to go!!

I think not - Samsung have firmly stated that it will be released at the end of April across the the world - I doubt Virgin Mobile are going to get it 2-3 weeks before everyone else.

PPS: Why are some people complaining about the pentile screen? Seriously, you use your phone an inch away from your face? That's about the only way you'll be able to tell the difference in reality, or maybe you walk around with a microscope which you pull out before you use your phone? At this pixel density it really makes no difference.

It's not about the pixel density, it's about the colour representation and accurate saturation levels. Compare an AMOLED display with an IPS LCD- huge difference, and you do notice the unnatural look of the screen.

And this is why the iPhone 5 screen is generally regarded as the standard that others aspire to, when it comes to accuracy and overall vibrancy.

Meh, I don't care particularly about accurate colour representation. My S3's display is awesome - really 'pops' with the somewhat saturated images and videos. There are colour settings available anyway.

What does grind my gears is how few nits of brightness the S3's display possesses. Bloody useless in sunlight.

Some do, like me :)

I do agree with you- my S2 is also rather average in sunlight, but I think this is a gamma issue. I can correct this in the ROM I am running though, so it eases that problem somewhat.

Still not sure how gsmarena rated it as excellent when viewed in sunlight, but that's another matter...

All right, that I accept. I was speaking to those who feel that Pentile means less pixels, but I understand your argument. It would be nice, but then AMOLED is obviously still expensive to produce or else everyone would be using it, so I assume RGB Full HD AMOLED would probably drive up the price... then again Samsung will need something to convince potential buyers to get the S5 next year (since pixel density is no longer an issue to compete on for flagship phones going forward).

I take it the leaked info suggesting the S4 will have dual sim capabilities, were false?

Probably for China, it was always unlikely that a flagship device would have dual-sim elsewhere in the world - if you were Vodacom, MTN or Cell C would you want to give your customers the choice?

It might be technically better but 100m people see something in Samsungs pentile AMOLED's.....

From a business point of view.... No.

Well, the S2 had a full RGB matrix in it's Super AMOLED Plus display, but still suffered from the same weaknesses as any OLED display will suffer from at present.

Not disputing that, but some of us prefer something better. Never said that the AMOLED display is poor, far from it...

1920 x 1080 at 441 ppi vs 1136×640 at 326 ppi?
I'll take the HD display, thanks.

It will be interesting to see if the S4 is more robust than the S3, but maybe the S3 is not a good benchmark. :(

Think I read somewhere that it will be using Gorilla Glass 3, they should test it against the S2 (Gorilla Glass 1) and see what happens. :)

I heard something about the S4 having S Navigation. Anyone know if it will have offline nav out of the box?
