Cable is a cable...Mystery solved, when they say original Samsung cable, they don't mean original lumia cable
Device rooted now, now to figure out how custom roms work.
Noob question,
Will any rom work with my carrier?

I'm getting agitated now, WTF is a "Kernel"?, i though its was easy as i download a rom, flash it and boom, New "non samsung" OS?, why are they talking about different Kernels?

Omega 26 is out![]()
Any major differences to Omega 24 or 25?
I'm now using CM and I couldn't be more happy. It's a new phone.
Sorry guys but what's the difference between XFE and XFA firmwares?
This thread seems to suggest you can use XFA without problems.
My phone is currently on Omega V23 and I need to go back to stock. Not sure if it was a MTN, Vodacom or CellC phone.
Would the XFA one be ok?
PS. and also. Can I re flash the original ROM from recovery on the phone or do I need to use Odin for this?
I once flashed XFA and got Vodacom bloat![]()
You probably didn't do a reset, so it kept your current bloatedness
XFA is bloat free.
Yup. Use Odin to flash. Do a factory reset tooFlash XFA - it contains no bloat.
Someone else will need to confirm, but My gues would be that you would need to use Odin to flash back to stock. I've not done this myself, and would like to know for certain too.
How did you manage that?I once flashed XFA and got Vodacom bloat![]()

How did you manage that?
That should not happen. Sure it wasn't XFV?
OGroteKoning said:In theory any rom should be okay with your carrier. It is much more a hardware issue than a software issue. You might find that the signal is different, but then you can always flash a different modem that performs better.
You shouldn't worry about kernels fit now. The rom will come with a kernel. People (myself included) pay around with kernels to optimise performance and/or battery life.
Make sure you're getting the rom that's GSM and also supported by your phone, follow the model number.
Since you're a noob don't worry about the kernel, just try and find a custom rom that's suits your taste first. Also remember BACKUP!
