What is the latest official VC software available for the S4?

My aunt is complaining her S4 continually says 'no SIM inserted' and someone told her it was the software versionn (4.4.2) and she's planning on taking it for a software upgrade - but I'm thinking that may be the latest?

Also - what else could cause that issue?

Last week with my S4 so keen to try something else besides.

Give GearCM a try. It doesn't have major bugs, besides Bluetooth calling (like in a car) not working.

I'm currently running a recent Cyanogenmod nightly, but I'll soon switch to the 20141122 GearCM build as it has many bugs fixed that remains in the official Cyanogenmod builds.
