Anyone on Lollipop noticed that when in an SMS thread, the volume rocker can be used to enlarge or reduce the size of the text in the sms's? Quite neat.

- Go into download mode (vol up, home & power)

- Run Odin and connect your phone

- click the PDA option in odin then navigate to your stock rom you downloaded on sammobile (.tar)

- Make sure 'Auto Reboot' and 'F. Reset Time' are checked and that 'Re-Partition' is unchecked

- Click on start to begin the flashing process. The process will take few minutes to complete.

You should now be on stock once again. You will lose root and your custom recovery though.

Thanks for this. I flashed http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/44536/I9500XXUHOC1_I9500ODDHOC1_INU/ this morning. and everything went fine. I notice that all my apps and settings stayed the same though, I backed everything up expecting to lose everything and start from scratch.

What's the best way to start from scratch as if I just got the phone out the box?

I see there's an option under Settings > Accounts > Backup and reset > Factory data reset, is this it?

Yes, that factory reset option will take your phone back to "in the box" day, but with the new firmware this time around. Remember to make sure Samsung and google accounts are synced so you can restore contacts, calendar and notes after the reset.

Okay thanks. Hoping that'll help my battery life issues...

Upgraded to Lollipop last night and really like it so far. Just curious to see what the battery life is like. Lollipop 5.0.2 gave noticeably worse battery life on the Nexus 5 compared to 4.4.4, but it is a lot better with the 5.1 update. If its not any good I'll probably factory reset the phone and try again.

I feel lolipop on I9500 quite sluggish ,even worse so in the task manager.

The I9505 seems much better and does not seem to slowdown at all.

Both was flashed and same apps.

I think sgx544mp3 is not up to the task ,maybe it is just me.

Testing a i9505 today with a new battery to see how long it last :)

I've noticed the Indian rom has some issues, contacts closes, signal is not great, the battery is so so and it does feel a little sluggish on certain apps. Still overall better than kk was
