Played with one today in store and coming from the S3 its really not a massive difference. Sure screen is slightly bigger, the build quality is pretty much the same, the biggest thing that I did notice was it was a lot faster. Not that the S3 is slow.

Nice phone, just doesn't feel like a worthy upgrade from the S3, considering that I will wait another 2 years to upgrade.

It won't be much faster on a decent custom ROM. My S3 is running CM 10.1 and everything occurs pretty much instantly and has nice transitions on top of that. Any faster and it will need to perform actions before I touch the screen.

Samsung Galaxy S4 bootloader successfully unlocked, tool to come in a month

As it turns out most of the Samsung Galaxy S4 flagships currently available on the market come with locked bootloaders – the ones available from carriers are locked for sure. But we also found out that our SIM free international Galaxy S4 units in our office are with locked bootloaders as well. A bummer, right?

Worry no more! A developer known as djrbliss has successfully unlocked the bootloader of the Galaxy S4. The tool is ready too, but won’t be released as soon as some might have hoped for.

The developer wants Verizon to launch its version of Galaxy S4 before releasing the unlocking tool. This is needed to keep the exploit hidden from Samsung until all major carriers launch the smartphone. Since Verizon is among the last to launch the Galaxy S4, we’ll have to wait until the end of the month before the unlocking tool goes online.

Honestly, we didn’t expect this from Samsung. The Galaxy S III smartphone came with unlocked bootloader almost everywhere – both SIM-free and carrier-bound versions. We really hope Samsung will reconsider its policy.

Are you checking the data usage from the Android Settings or from Whatsapp's own data counter?

According to Android Settings, mine has used 862KB since the 27th
And according to Whatsapp total sent and received is 4.9MB

Whenever I have the app is open the data just streams in and the user profile pics flicker like they're constantly being updated...

Has chewed 1.4GB of data since saturday, thankfully most of it via wi-fi

Doubt I will it though. Worried it will ruin the experience.

It does.

I have not used screen protectors since my HTC HD2 which was yonks ago. When I got my case for the S4 I figured I would give it a try - and not enjoying it. Way prefer my screen to be bare bones.
It is Gorilla glass for a reason.

I just think it's too expensive to chance!
