Going to insure the phone rather. Should be sub R100 per month which will be worth it to be able to keep the screen naked and not worry about the potential consequences.

How would the Sammy warranty work regarding screen?
If after a year you discover scratches on the screen would Sammy replace the screen or phone under it's warranty?

I think it would have to be cracked first. They have taken a big gamble because what is to stop us smashing the screen when we have built up enough scratches and sending the phone in for a makeover?!

Ya - makes sense.

S2, S3, Note 1 and Note 2 - never a single scratch. I think you have to be really careless to mess these screens up.

Only potential risk to mine is my 2yr old daughter. When I get home my phone goes on top of the fridge.....

Oh ye - lol.

Typically when I put my phone down I place it face down in case I don't see it when putting something else down. All my cases have had a slight lip around the edge which keeps the screen slightly above the surface when face down.
Seems to have worked for me so far.

At least you know what to expect if you drop your phone into your cereal.

Not sure if anyone has experienced wifi issues (not specifically DLink related)?
I have been using mobile data a lot at home because of issues on my access points (DLink downstairs, Cisco upstairs and TP Link in the home office).
It just randomly stops sending/receiving data and page loads, downloads, thread paging in Tapatalk, etc... Just time out. I have to disable and re-enable wifi to get it going again. Also finding it a bit slow.

I got fed up and just stuck to Vodacom and attempted wifi again every now and again. Problem persists.

This AM I installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wahtod.wififixer and things seems to be a LOT better. No issues thus far.

Seems to be a JB problem, but I never experienced this on my S3 or Note 2 - so dunno.

Sharing this incase someone else has issues.

I've never used a screen guard and after 7-8 months I have scratches all over my S3 screen. One large, deep one (that was probably me doing something stupid) but I have many, many microscratches. I don't keep anything in the same pocket and look after the phone, so not quite sure why. Have they changed the glass on the S4?

I bought a cheap rear cover through which was plastic and rubbed against the 'metal' side and rubbed it off ... Argh. But that was fully my fault and I quickly removed the cover

Can anyone tell me how much battery life I am to expect out of the phone? I mean, it is beefy hardware, but I haven't been able to get more than 2 days max out of it, barely 2 days.

I dock my phone every night in my bluetooth dock to charge overnight so as long as I get a full day I am happy.
It is normally around 45 to 50% with light to moderate use during work hours and heavy use in the evening.
I would say 2 days is good. About the expected battery time.

Okay cool. I used to do that, but with the 2a charger I charge it quickly and then disconnect the charger. The battery drops from 100% to 90 from 9 PM, to about 6 am.

I would be impressed with a full day. What phone are you coming from?

Well, my phone was stolen end of Last year, a galaxy S, and I only got a day out of that. I have, however in my wait for the HTC been using a Samsung Pusha(i think thats what they call it)...since it has absolutely no features, i only had to charge it once every 2 weeks. Eventually got tired of the wait and got the S4
