Well, my phone was stolen end of Last year, a galaxy S, and I only got a day out of that. I have, however in my wait for the HTC been using a Samsung Pusha(i think thats what they call it)...since it has absolutely no features, i only had to charge it once every 2 weeks. Eventually got tired of the wait and got the S4

Did you track the thief? I almost want my phone to be stolen. It's insured, and the anti-theft apps on Android are intense. Nothing can undermine them.

Really wanna see another low light comparison after all these software updates. We all know that the S4 is better in full daylight but that is not really where the One shines. I prefer the S4 personally but I think this is another bias article by gsmarena IMHO

Anybody else heard about the 53.8mb OTA update (I9500XXUAMDK) for the i9500? It's a "stability" update which supposedly fixes lag and other stuff. My phone thinks its up-to-date though, it says nothing available. Same story from KIES.

Anybody know if our updates are network-dependent, or if they come directly from Samsung? I suspect its a region-specific Samsung -direct download, but I'd love to update now. Might even root the phone and do it manually, hehe.

It'll probably be a while before we get it here, you'd be better off installing an overseas version. The Nordic versions worked well for me.
Also, you don't need to root to install any rom. But you do need root if you want to backup any apps.

Just my opinion - if u ain't experiencing stability issues and you weren't planning to root your phone... Hang ten. It's not that critical

I tend to agree, i generally only update on major revisions.

No issue using the updates pushed to me even if minor. But to void your warranty for no benefit is ridiculous

Considering Jelly Bean for the S2 is still not available in local versions, it is worth it to upgrade using the overseas rom.
But probably not worth it for this S4's minor update.

That's fair - jelly bean was a major update

Technically it would, but i've heard of people successfully sending in their phones to repair having custom kernels and roms.

For custom ROM's, just use Triangle Away and flash the right stock firmware back on. Don't see how anyone could even detect anything after that.
