That roots the device, ish.

The Ad blocking app I use and Titanium backup were adamant that my device was not rooted after using the cofface method.

Load this using Odin

Then you can flash till your hearts content from Recovery. I went with the Wanam Lite ROM, which has root and Adam Kernel in it.

It's quite easy, I did it

edit : Cofface method worked 100% for me. Root check and Titanium ws 100%. But you dont need to root within Cofface if you flash Wanam, that has the root already.

Indeed, I also have the black one. I got it on launch day when the boxes arrived. About 18 devices arrived, 4 of which were black. I prefer black to be honest, I think the white is a bit girly

So I don't even have my S4 yet. I'm due for upgrade with Cell C, but waiting out the remaining months to port over to someone else, looking like MTN is best here in durban.

Anyway was ordering a few things online, so I decided to order myself a case for the s4 as well. Ended up after much research going for the Spigen SGP Neo-Hybrid in the satin silver colour.
Only negative thing I've read about it, is that it doesn't like to accept non Samsung micro-usb chargers etc, but it's fine with me since I've got 4 samsung chargers!

That is BS, I am using several different chargers in different locations - All have worked so far, (HTC / Blackberry / Generic, etc.)
The supplied adapter does charge a LOT faster than all the others though.

Agreed. To date I have not used the charger that came with the phone. Still my trusty HTC Desire HD charger is being used for my Nexus 10 and Galaxy S4.

It would do... It's 2Ah vs 700mAh (BB and genetic), nearly 3x the output.

Yeah, that could be true.
I just looked at a few different chargers actual connectors that plug into the phone. There aren't really major variances in length, clearance or shape to the official Samsung one.

I know with the S3 there were some cases that didn't play nice with ANY chargers, but that was due to the thickness of the case and lack of open clearance.

Had a pouch with my Blackberry Torch. Problem was that when I had something in my 1 hand and had to take a call from the phone which was in my pocket - how to remove the phone from said pouch in order to answer?

Became such a pain.... Offers great protection though!
