Samsung Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 5s vs Nokia Lumia 1020 vs BlackBerry Z30

for the cost, the iPhone seems a little low on specs compared to the others?

The processor has top class performance, but the Ram is the biggest issue, it simply can't handle a lot of web pages open at a time, sometimes its on 3 tabs, then it force closes or needs to reload those pages.

It also frequently suspends app, making them reload if you swap out to a new app.

Good observation although it does not really matter. Apple makes it owns software and hardware and it integrates very well. It also sports a 64 bit processor which none of the other devices have. The iPhone 5s is blazingly fast.

samesung S5

still as bland-fisher-price as ever. At least they seem to be putting some effort into getting away from their old dreadful touchwiz UI.

Agreed, not sure why they comparing phones that have been out for a while now.

I have my upgrade end April and i think it will go down to the s5, Sony Z2 or the new HTC One (announced end March).

I currently have the s3 and have been pretty happy with it but i feel like i want something different as the s3,s4 and s5 are so similiar...

Why would you choose the S5 over the Z2? The Z2 beats the S5 on almost all levels including build quality since Samsung seems to just refuse to put any metal on the outside of their phones.

Not too crazy about the plain rectangle shape, or the big bottom and top bezels. Build quality is top-notch and the specs I'm also a fan of, though. I also like that signature Sony-coloured back. :)

Also, as others have mentioned, the plastic of the Samsung actually tends to take knocks a bit better. Metal can't give way or absorb hits as plastic can.

Blazingly fast? Maybe in benchmarks but normal UI is just plain slow...

+1

My iPad mini with retina shows visible lag on the UI, especially if you rotate the screen, sometimes it looks like those tegra2 tables...

This article is obviously taking the best in each OS, and comparing it, that's why there is no Z2 or HTC One etc. Not going into this debate in another thread, we already had quite a healthy one in the Samsung S5 thead over here. Discussion started as the Unpacked event started.

What's interesting is that even a pathetic blackberry has better specs than the iPhone LOL apple you so funny. Why people still buy Blackberry's I'll never understand. And windows phone just sucks balls, I mean, it's Microsoft pfft
