Are there any disadvantages to using Fast Charging? Does it decrease the total battery life?
If not, why is there an option to disable it?

You can't turn it off but you can use a normal charger. No disadvantages, generally speaking.

There is a option to disable fast charge. I disabled mine

They probably added it to the S7. It was not available on the S6.

Stop adding new app icons to home screen: If you don't want new apps you install cluttering up your home screen, head into Play Store > settings and uncheck the box.

Do I know what I'm talking about? Yep, I sell wireless chargers for a living.
Does wireless charging make a difference? It seems to (I had an S6 and have never been able to fast charge my phone before).
I received my fast Wireless charger from Holland a couple of hours ago and still need to check it out properly but it seems to be charging extremely fast. The app Ampere (by Braintapp) that I rely on just rolled over and waved it's little legs in the air, so I guess the app developer doesn't have an S7 yet and his app is now unreliable, which is most irritating..

Bull. I have a S6edge at home, and got a wireless charger with it when I bought it last year.

From Samsung: The Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ (And now the S7) are compatible with wireless Fast Charge technology. Other devices will charge at standard wireless charging speeds.
That is the Samsung Galaxy Edge PLUS. The S6 and S6 Edge charge at standard wireless charging speed.
