The standard Qi wireless charger is on the right. The fast wireless charger is on the left.
As the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad uses Inductive Charging Technology (heat) the fast wireless charger has a fan. It is also slightly larger than the standard wireless charger. It is also considerably more expensive.
If you have a fast charger and place a S6 on it it will downgrade the current and charge at standard charging speed. If you place a S7 on it the speed will be faster and your S7 will say FAST wireless charging.

the old Sony's have you beat then, its like using their power saving features just the S7 doesn't last as long :p

Lol, according to the guys on android cental that doesnt seem to make much of a difference. I put it off now. Will check
On my Note 4, I found power saving did save battery, but it also made the phone noticeably slower when doing normal everyday things like browsing the Internet and typing messages...

It has to has an impact of battery life as it lowers the max frequency of the phone. Hence the stutter/slower performance.

I am thinking of doing a reset. Maybe I pulled something in from my Note that it does not like.

No, the S6 and S6 Edge and anything from that date are capable of both Qi and PMA wireless charging.

Qi wireless charging is the biggest version, and most phones are only set up to do Qi wireless charging (like the Nexus and some of the top range Nokia Mocrosoft Lumias.

However Samsung, catering for both the EU and the US market (Starbucks use PMA charging tables) built in both versions of wireless receiver. This is very handy if you buy a Duracell Powermat from overseas as powermat is PMA and not Qi.

The picture gives you a list of phones that can Qi wireless charge. It is a bit dated now, but is interesting nonetheless.

Only the Samsung S6 Edge +, The Note 5 and now the S7 phones are capable of wireless charging. The S6 phones cannot wireless charge.
Do I know what I'm talking about? Yep, I sell wireless chargers for a living.
Does wireless charging make a difference? It seems to (I had an S6 and have never been able to fast charge my phone before).
I received my fast Wireless charger from Holland a couple of hours ago and still need to check it out properly but it seems to be charging extremely fast. The app Ampere (by Braintapp) that I rely on just rolled over and waved it's little legs in the air, so I guess the app developer doesn't have an S7 yet and his app is now unreliable, which is most irritating..
This is what everyone is referring to
