Flippen Good Deal IMO....but to be frank here i'd rather get a 25" proper PC LCD - it's not THAT much small in size (If for PC Use), and has way better resolutions...

For TV use, the plasma's have even better deals!

Are you sure that model is Full HD (1920x1080)? It seems to be an "HD Ready" (1366x768) unit

You're 100% correct. I got to Game last night and the sales chap had given me the wrong info. I eventually went for the 40" B530 instead for R9999.

I'm really interested in the 40" B530 for that price... looks like a very good deal. It would be great if you can give a short review of the product :)

I'm just concerned about the fact that there's basically no info on almost ALL of these LCD's on the internet. Is it old stock? Is it weird malaysian models that they import? Anybody know?

You missed the boat on that one :)

Dion Wired @ The Grove had that exact model on special today for R8999 for the first 100 customers.

It's not a weird model. It's (from what I've read) the "newer" model. The "older" model is the LA40B550. The main difference is supposed to be that the 530 only has 3 HDMI ports while the 550 has 4.

I must admit I'm seriously impressed with this LCD! I'm by no means a guru on all the various settings but so far am blown away with what we have! It's the first time in a long while that I don't have buyers remorse after spending R15k (LCD and some sound goodies :D).

I've hooked up my home entertainment system and have played some Dvd's via HDMI and am drooling at the quality of the picture...I can only imagine what blue ray is going to look like (need to get this purchase past the wifey first). Even my streamed content via my Netgear EVA is rendering some awesome quality and this currently only on component.

All in all it's money well spend in my opinion. I could have debated and shopped around for weeks still about the 'best buy' but in the end think the choice was perfect and I got way more than I ever could have expected.

As mentioned in another post the B550 has one additional HDMI input as well as usb.

I also have the B550. Extremely impressed with it.

I don't have a HD PVR, and not sure if you picked this up too, but DSTv signal doesn't seem to be too grand.

I checked the link about viewing DivX's, but too afraid to try it. Scared of messing something up.

Game has the 350, not 530. I was also contemplating getting one and yes, it is HD Ready.

Samsung LCD TV's

If you want more info on these Samsung LCD's on the web, replace the "LA" in the model name with "LN" - they seem to be the same, with LN models being destined for more "Western" destinations. Generally very favourable reviews out there.
