I'm looking forward to trying the firmware update.
I'm just hoping I don't do anything wrong, i.e. I hope it's not a difficult process to install the firmware.

No problem. I have done it on a few Samsung devices and never had an issue.

I'm guessing before I "reboot the tablet in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)", I first need to switch off the tablet. Is that right?

Do you lose all the information, e.g. contacts, emails, etc. after the firmware has been installed on the tablet?

What is the disadvantage if one does not do a factory reset after upgrading the firmware?

Did you experience any problems with writing to the external SD card or with Google Play Store after upgrading to Android 5.1.1 using the firmware?

No - do not recall any issues.

Did you do a factory reset?
