Samsung VZ-10 Easy Studio and other issues

I've recently got the Samsung Zv-10 as it was the only clam shell that was available on my contract for free with 3G and clamshell (that and the Z-500 which if outdated according the the sales person and difficult to get hold of).

Now, I love the Samsung phones, have had two and no problems, but this one is giving me lots of grief.

1.) The Easy Studio isn't. The manage contacts and phonebook + messaging icons are greyed out and can not be used. Other than that, insync, image transfer etc. seems to work fine. I've tried the latest version 3.0 Easy Studio, the one that came on the CD and a update download via it's update manager, no luck. I'm using the supplied USB cable to connect. Same problem at home and at work (Windows XP SP2 at work, SP1 at home)
2.) The phone is very heavy on batteries. My previous Samsung, the SGH-S500 would last 7-9 days depending on how many calls I make, this one lasts from 1 day to 3 days max, they have the same specs (260 hours standby).
3.) The bluetooth seems a little wonky as well, I can not discover services on the phone from my Dell X50 handset, only do file transfer via bluetooth works, not GPRS, 3G or any other service.

I've had a look around on the internet, the battery life and greyed out icons seems to be a common problem, but no one seem to know a solutions. Probably have to take it in for a software upgrade? Any suggestions?

If I use the *#3695147*# or *#9998*324# (test) codes I can tweak a few things, but not sure which ones to tweak, the Firmware version is ZV10JBEJ6 for what is is worth.

Help!

Thanx

Well, not many people seem to have this phone, or they don't have problems with it?

Sor far:

1.) I've mananged to increase the battery life by switching to GSM 900/1800 network only and not automatic. Since 3G seems to run on 1900, this disables the 3G always on. So now I have to enable 1900 every time I want to use 3G (or accept GPRS speeds), but at least the battery life has improved from 1-2 days, to 4-5.
2.) Contacted Vodacom customer care, they gave eventually gave me the Samsung customer support number, will contact them today.
3.) Ditto on the bluetooth discovery for this phone.

Update

Well, still no luck with PC studio, the Samsung guys proved to be a bit clueless and couldn't suggest anything I haven't tried already.

Got bluetooth working on my PDA, had to hack into the phone's hidden settings to change the bluetooth mode ... problem is that now it doesn't connect to the PC bluetooth dongle anymore, even when I change the mode back to orignal. This seems to be a dongle issue more than anything else, if I use a Belkin dongle it works fine, Toshiba, MSI, not.
