Sanral writes off R1.8 billion in unpaid e-tolls

The SA National Roads Agency (Sanral)'s integrated report for the year ended 31 March 2019 showed that it has disregarded over R1.84 billion in outstanding e-toll fees.

This action was taken due to Sanral's assessment of how much money it could reasonably expect to make from motorists who have rejected the failed toll system.

No I think they could get this right if they put effort into it. They just need to setup temporary bulk processing centres and start processing people. I dont think it's unrealistic to get done.

Actually not,government screwing over more of our tax money instead of scrapping this corrupt system and just paying for the roads straight as they should have done in the first place.

We're still paying indirectly.It would have been so much cheaper to just pay for the road upgrades themselves even with their bloated comrade extra under the table loaded tenders.

NHI is being falsely marketed as "Universal health coverage", "entire population"
ZA already has Universal health coverage - it's called "Provincial Heath System"
Anyone in ZA can go to a provincial hospital / clinic and get treated.
The issue is that cadres are appointed to manage as opposed to skilled people.

The issue is that cadres are appointed to manage as opposed to skilled people.

This happens in the private sector too. You need only look at how new hospitals are designed, e.g. the cardiac specialists are several floors away from a Cardiac Critical Care Unit, or at how stand-offish the nursing staff are when their patients need care. Seen it, heard it far too often. Maybe things are better in certain hospitals. The reality is that medical health and care in ZA is still deteriorating. Immense pity.
