hope not. you need major linux distros like RH standing alone

given RH's importance in the server market if they can remain independent it is largely preferable. SAP should buy Ubuntu.

Nope - we need independent distro's.

SAP can make their own distro.

it was a tongue in cheek comment that in the grerater good of things, leave RH and target another distro (not Debian mind). Mandriva actually stands out.

Like Novell acquired openSuSE.

Might not be a bad thing - they can tune that specific distro to their needs.

Nope, I just had no clue as to who SAP was until I Googled it. In the past SAP for me was Police.

What, you've never seen the SAP logo before in sports sponsorship, hell Ernie Else is a walking billboard for SAP :D

lol, that was my answer in my first SAP job interview:

Interviewer: "What do you know about SAP?"
Me: "TBH, nothing except that they sponsor Ernie Els"

even more strange, i got that job ;)
