Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 X2

The HD 4870 X2, for instance, stands as one of the most potent single-card solutions available today, and also took the accolade as the first display adapter to utilise GDDR5 memory technology for killer overall bandwidth.

Caging the Beast is not my idea of moving forward - they should start releasing new technology!

Now the company has come up with the seemingly more reasonable HD 4850 X2, and we’ve got the Sapphire variant of this configuration on test to see just what it can do. Essentially, it’s a 4870 X2 running at lower clock speeds – 625MHz on the core and 993MHz on the massive 2GB of more conventional GDDR3 memory – so it ought to be somewhat easier to cool at the very least.

Hmmm so does it use 5 or 3 rpm?
