Massive copper cable bust in Soweto

A massive haul of stolen copper cables was recently uncovered during a raid of the Devland scrapyard near Soweto.

The operation — a combined effort between the Saps, JMPD, and Eskom — saw heaps of copper cabling confiscated as part of a broader sweep of the Kliptown, Devland, Pimville, and Eldorado Park areas.
 
They should have targeted illegal connections while at it in the area. Could have cut loadshedding short.....

Get ready for extended power cuts in all areas in Jhb, this scrapyard is going to make up for it's losses in the next week or so.

Theft or vandalism of essential community communications infrastructure should be criminal sabotage, and attract those penalties for all involved. It's the only way to slow this down. It does not affect just an individual or tow, but affects entire communities whether it be for transport, emergency services, safety, etc. It's not just theft of a bicycle or a cellphone, etc.

The problem now is that this useless ANC has shown South Africa and the world it doesn't have a ****ing clue what to do anymore that it is not a "liberation movement".

ANC are too **** scared to punish any of their supporters caught stealing money or anything else. Absolutely bunch of fat pigs who talk a lot of **** and do ****all.

So we watch this shitshow going down and can not really do anything about it cause the same cunts stealing copper and everything else they can vote ANC.

ANC and its voters and supporters will be the end of South Africa.

History that the ANC cannot change will reflect their predictable utter failure once again with regards to blacks governing anything. It always ends up in a ****up.

Because 500 years ago, JvR needed copper for phone lines. He wanted to invest 500 years into the future, so to get the cables ready so that someone can steal it.

Honestly. This scrap yard should be closed, and the land should be used for housing. Simply a slap on the wrist will have no affect. They know they can get away with it, and probs have some criminal records, so someone will take the fall while the others continue. Simply clear out the scrap yard and give it for housing. No matter iwhat the original owner should feel.

You stole from SA, You were treasonous. Well then you get your property taken away.

Crazy to think that we export all this copper to other countries, but have to use "virgin / new" copper for local manufacturing. Or at least that is how it was a few years ago :cautious:
