Talking about the environment which fostered all these nice inventions , predominantly Christian countries have tended to be the place where all this came from , as opposed to gunpowder in China 1000 years ago and nothing until now.
Wasn't Galileo house arrested because his observations of the cosmos differed with those of the church?

The Chinese had the compass

My point is , havent Christian dominated areas been responsible for the greater amounts of useful invention ?

You keep crediting Christianity with the inventions.
Perhaps your reading skill is in need of attention , i attributed the inventions to the fact that Christian dominated places have given us a lot of useful stuff .
Interesting that you mention house arrest , do you think a heretic would get house arrest under other religions ?

All they did was kill 100 million in 80 years, but don't let that stop you laughing sarcastically.
Who? Some random supposed atheist?

“With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion.”

Have I given you the idea that I'm a fundamentalist? I would have to reconsider my posts here if I did. I don't quite understand why you would bring up the issue of fundamentalism in response to me saying I'm committed to free thought.

Because, in this thread alone, it has shown you to be a liar about what you say you are committed to. You are obviously a clone.

I'm just going to ask you to educate yourself, this is the authoritative site on the issue.

authority

There is a massive difference between a cult and a religion, if you want to educate yourself in what a cult really is, that link is for you.

Especially the articles here

And jeez, @cheesus . I just googled your link. Guess what wiki has to say about ICSA i.e International Cultic Studies Association

Criticism[edit]
In their book, Cults and New Religions: A Brief History (2009), sociologists Douglas E. Cowan and David G. Bromley describe the ICSA as a "secular anticult" organization. They point out that the ICSA provides no indication of how many of their characteristics are necessary for a group to be considered "cultic". The checklist creators do not adequately define how much of certain practices or behaviors would constitute "excessive", nor do they provide evidence that any of the practices listed are innately harmful. Finally, Cowan and Bromley criticize the ICSA list as being so broad that even mainstream organizations such as Buddhism, Evangelical Protestantism, Hinduism, and the Roman Catholic Church fall within the criteria.[5]

It always amazes me when troll-clones like you don't even try and do proper homework.

Did they help with mass scale agriculture ? mass production of technical equipment ?
Ogg also discover fire , fire make meat good........
Fire wasn't discovered by "Christian countries" either. It was there long before organised religion came into existence. Technical equipment also predate your preferred religion. Don't even go there.

I see you have chosen to just troll , on your way then .
There is no denying that Christian dominated lands have given the majority of useful and life changing inventions.
