And so to support the point of supersunbird I would like to introduce into evidence the first amendment of the United States constitution.
Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
That right there was a significant step in the progress of western civilization. The idea that people may believe what they wish, without suffering the forces of repression of the state for their beliefs is a profoundly tolerant one.

Anyway, I wonder what Confederados thinks of this great thing called the Reniassance (liberalisation) of Europe that caused great scientific and cultural progress and allowed European countries to establish earth circling empires, one of which the USA was a previous colony of, and if it was so bad and that the dark ages (conservative state of mind) should have continued and the Americas never colonised and the internet never invented and him as he is never existed?
