I was shocked and dismayed when I read that Telkom’s previous US shareholder, SBC, shipped their legislative department over to SA to ‘help’ draft our Telecommunications Act.

The ANC got taken for a complete ride. SBC created an absolute monster in Telkom and took their profits and left us to sort out the entire mess.

Nothing new. The ANC seems to still be paying off their anti-Apartheid supporters. We lost Iscor that way and the train is not stopping... This country is being lobbed off and chopped to pieces it seems...

That is my take on it anyway. There is just no logic to this. It leaves one numb...

Ultimately its the ANC/Government's fault, they're the ones that were supposed to be protecting our interests and they clearly failed. This can't have seemed like a good idea even at the time so I can't help but wonder if there were a few off the books "bonuses" paid.

Maybe their interests aren't our interests, so maybe they succeeded in their aims ...
