Welcome ladies and gentleman to the thread.

I have been using only certain types of hardware since I started off my gaming addiction ( Sounds like a AA meeting ) . I don't know why maybe because I started off with the brand and stick to it. To be honest I think I am scared off the unknown.

The brands I use is:

CPU: Intel
MOBO: Gigabyte
GPU: Nvidea
RAM: Kingston
PSU: Thermaltake

and HDD i am not to much worried about that.

Well its that time off year where my financial adviser ( aka wallet ) allow me to buy new hardware but I found this bundle that looks gorgeous and I am to scared to buy it since I don't know the brands. Keep in mind that I am not a hardware professional but I like my brands for no reason.

Here is the bundle pack:

http://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Hardwar...-eight-core-vishera-cpu-8gb-ddr3-ram-131.aspx

I got this from another thread on this forum and am interested but I saw its AMD CPU. The problem is I don't know how to compare the 2 also is MSI a good mobo, this one in particular. Ram I am not to worried about. If I can shove it in my MOBO I will buy it. I am a student so my budget is not really high about R6000 and will go R6500 even.

Now my PC hardware varies between stone age and modern age:

CPU: Intel Core 2 duo 3.06ghz
RAM: 4 Gb DDR2
MOBO: PCI ( I cant remember the code but it is very old ) - I know it is not Gigabyte I cant
remember why I bought this

GPU: Nvidea Geforce 550 Ti
PSU: 600 Watt ( I think it is 600 watt might be 800 watt )

Also do you stick to a brand or do you get anything that looks like it can perform.

Thank you
Francois

That motherboard they have listed with the AMD is overkill for most users.

This is would probably be better value:

Or even this is you want to save some money:
http://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Hardwar...tel-core-i5-cpu-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-ram-182.aspx

The Intel i7 4770 seems to beat the AMD 8530 in benchmarks, I personally have a 4771 and it's a beast

MSI make decent boards

I tend to stick to the following:
CPU: Intel
Mobo: Asus
RAM: Kingston
PSU: Antec
HDD: Western Digital HDD/Intel SSD

That's actually a very decent bundle looking at the pricing. That board is one of the best motherboards you can get if you are a high end user that wants to run multiple graphics cards and over clock/

If it were me I'd get it without even thinking.

As for you choice in power supply though thermaltake is actually crap. Rather get a decent Corsair/Zalman/Seasonic/XFX/Antec.

I looked at the first option as well I was interested in that as well. Color got to me on the AMD bundle but and I know the color does not matter. The reason why I actually linked the AMD bundle was because I had no experience with any of those brands and was wondering does it compare well with the Intel bundle. Thank you I was stuck in between and will probably buy the Intel bundle after all.

Thanks again

With all the new consoles having AMD multi core cpus in them, I think this is a pretty good time time to go AMD if you're the type of person that was sitting on the fence before.

The nice thing about that bundle as well is that it gives you decent RAM that runs at 1866mhz. That CPU can use that RAM to the fullest.

The new consoles are offloading most of the CPU tasks to the GPU hence Mantle is more superior to DirectX 11.

Personally, I would go with an Intel CPU(i5 or i7), a recognised brand of DDR3 RAM and then top it off with a Radeon R9 GPU.

I moved from Gigabyte mobo's to MSI and haven't had a hitch ;)

I love Intel and I think I finally decided on it as well. I saw a vs video between the AMD FX 8350 and a i5 can't remember which one. They were close compared so I would probably go with the Intel bundle thanks guys also just on another note is their a way to change the topic of the thread that spelling mistake is bothering me.

There aren't any brands I generally stick to except for AMD but that's more technology related than brand related. There are a few brands I try to avoid though - Gigabyte and Asus. Yes I know their support is good locally but imho it isn't worth it as there are just as many out of warranty failures. Then there was that dreaded "CPU not detected" design flaw.
