Now imagine that!! And, this is only the beginning. We will talk again in 10 years from now.

What’s the beginning? Smacking was banned 4 weeks ago and you are equating this news to “40 days” getting out of hand and matrics stabbing each other?

WTAF?

Oh wow - haven't heard the term "40 days" since I was in matric. Memories flood back.
Some kids just use it as an excuse to be complete barbarians, much like looters using protests to act like barbarians.
Remember Hazing/Ontgroening?

Corporal punishment in schools were banned by the DOE years ago already. The schools' methods of punishment were restricted. This was the start of the problems. It is evident today. Things are about to get even worst now that parents too also are prohibited. Wait and you will see yourself.

Throwing each other with condoms filled with urine and faeces. How f*cked up can you be to behave like that ?

I am a bit confused - how is this disgusting and retarded school tradition, called bombing, behind the school boys death?

there is a bit of a difference between throwing condoms filled with urine, faeces and what else (as disgusting as it is) to bringing a knife to school and stabbing someone.

I don't even see the correlation
The MIND SET the mind set -- savages be savages ............

Wait and see what? I’ve raised my 3 children without corporal punishment and it wasn’t used at their schools either.

Just be a good parent and raise your kids properly and you won’t need to use violence. And believe it or not, if you do it properly, you certainly won’t need to expect others to have to use violence against them either when they are at at school.

It’s called parenting.

And they are your kids.

Take responsibility.

Good for you!!

Good luck with the future that awaits.

I attended one of the cheapest public high schools in the cape which many would also assume to be rough.

The schools' tradition was to dig a hole, add water to make mud, throw each other in it and party once that's done (all full of mud)

No violence, no murders, just fun.
When you spoke about a hole and water I thought you were going to say something about -- PLANTING TREES ..
WHAT every school kid SHOULD do when leaving school ..........

What future would that be? Two are in Europe and one still here at school. Should I start hitting him now just in case?

You are not allowed to. You will go straight to jail, without collecting R200 passing start.

Good. It’s about time government did something worthwhile and if this makes parents do some parenting and actually take responsibility for their own kids, then good for them.

Yep, then incidents like this should come as no surprise. And, if one of kids suffer the same fate at school, no problems, right?

Wrong. Big problems.

I really don’t know why you’d think that teaching your children that you dishing out a beating to them is the way to solve problems in the house, but then expect them to act differently with their problems when they are outside the house.
