78. Currently 90 kilos, and going down. I was 68k at 21, then 73 at 23, then 80 at 30. By the time I was 60 I was 120k. Then I decided to eat less. My target is 87.5. I will be there in two or three weeks. No fancy diets - stuff film stars and 'feeling the burn' and change with the wind Banting people. Just eat less. Twice a day is fine. You won't feel hungry after a week or so as your intestines shrink. Gyms? Don't be silly! I do some exercises to rebuild leg muscles after a knee replacement, about 10 minutes a day.
I was 6' when younger, but am now nearer 5'11": you shrink as you get older.
In the UK the NHS set store by BMI, but it is not reliable and has several imperfections.

I don't know why someone will willingly do the banting diet. Stupid expensive and just a hype. My wife follows mostly the banting diet because she can't have any sugar or carbs due to her sickness. Not even natural sugar. It is crap expensive and ridiculous. We need to make everything because the so called 'banting products' is super overpriced. Damn, they will put a banting sticker on a piece of lettuce and the sheep will buy it. If you don't have health issues it is a waste of money. I agree, just eat less.

My younger brother died 4 years ago: he was a sport fanatic. It was a painful death. The UK football winning team of 1966 is suffering on the whole, as are many footballers. Heading footballs is thought to lead on to brain problems like dementia. Research needed. Then we have footballers etc with knee problems in later life. Swimming dould be much safer - but not diving. Cycling is pretty good if you don't crash.

The key here is balance. Anything that is done to the extreme is usually not always good for you.

Not surprising. Having to share a Happy Meal with 3 other siblings would do that.:p
We only went to MacDonalds twice, long before 'Happy Meals'. They didn't like them. It was almost always home cooking on cost grounds.
