Hi All,

I have had a very bad taste left in my mouth by scoop's warranty processes.

A number of units that are sold are dead on arrival, a normal supplier replaces this without questions, however Scoop simply find an excuse and say that you must have caused the problem and they will not replace this under warranty, sometimes when you buy from the cheapest supplier you must note that this is the risk you take.

In order to protect yourself, ask one of the helpful sales people to pull the unit out of the box and test it in front of you.

Which Scoop?

They normally in all our incidents with non-working hardware, replaced them, although we do request a report on the non-working hardware to be compared with our report.

Been dealing with them for awhile now and never had any issues when returning equipment that is DOA, come to think of it I have never had any equipment that is DOA.

Was this @ the CPT branch ?

Hi Guys,

Genuine DOA equipment can be warrantied within 48 hours of purchase. We would also require further information about it when returned as we have found some 'DOA' cases being voltage related damage which we unfortunately cannot warranty with our suppliers as part of their warranty T&C's. If you feel you have a genuine case that has not been satisfactory dealt with, please contact your nearest branch

Just bought another 2 radio's from scoop today and 1 is dead. I am going to switch to using MIRO. It seems scoop just replace dead unit back into stock. I have also notice a lot of the UBNT stock scoop brings in wont show the certified logo product from UBNT when you do an upgrade.

Which products specifically are you purchasing? Which version of firmware are you upgrading from?

All of our UBNT products are imported from UBNT directly.

I purchased two 2.4GHz AirMax Grid 20dBi units, one is dead.

When I upgrade the other unit, namely to 5.5.6 and is does not show the "authentic product logo" To the Scoop Distribution Rep, please don't bother replying, as I said in my previous post, I will not be buying anything again from scoop, I put it down to school fees. When I call 21-007-0903 I get a strange tone and then disconnect.

Contacted UBNT and they said if a unit does not display the Authentic UBNT product on the bottom right, then it is not an authentic UBNT product, is must be a fake unit.

There is no longer an issue with counterfeit Ubiquiti goods, and we are not aware of there ever being a reported case in South Africa. The counterfeiter was closed down more than a year ago and subsequently found guilty http://ir.ubnt.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=787335

This is obviously not the real motivation for your postings and now clear you are looking to try discredit our company for some reason unknown. If you have a genuine issue you can contact us directly as indicated already and we will be happy to help.

If a moderator can please close this thread to avoid further slander from the OP
