Scott's Shipping Services - UNDER POSSIBLE LIQUIDATION

I'm struggling to understand the logic here. Are you suggesting that Scott is lying about the liquidation to avoid consequences? How would a non-liquidation change the outcome in this situation?

I personally know of multiple businesses that operate the way I used to survive: paycheck to paycheck.

Some months are better, while others are worse. These businesses are constantly teetering on the brink of collapse, with the sheriff making regular visits. They are at the mercy of patient creditors who, for reasons known only to them, chose to extend a lifeline time and time again. From the outside, these businesses appeared successful, but in reality, they are one missed payment away from a padlock on the door or having their stock liquidated. Sheer luck and the inexplicable grace of a few key creditors is all that keeps the lights on.

I think the average businessman marches forward with the hopes that things will get better and will not dare to 'stop taking orders' when things start to look bad, as that would be seen as giving up!

This. You sir are a wordsmith. Great explanation.

Back when I was a young entrepreneur and attended a lot of entrepreneur networking mixers this was the general way of the small business. Not everyone has investors with deep pockets to float the business during these periods but you still need to eat and so do your small group of staff.

Yea please don't try to normalise this kak. I don't run my businesses like this and none of the successful businesses I work with do.

You now who does?

Bozos that none of us will do business with.

This whole lone wolf at the coal face of capitalism tough guy bollocks is played out. My tween daughter runs a business on Instagram, there's no excuse for running a Mickey fscking Mouse 'boer maak n plan' shop nowadays. None.

I see the attitudes above expressed with some frequency, often with tales of butthurt attached and it's pathetic. South Africans need to hold to a higher standard, not just complain all the time.

If you want to be the main-oke then run your damn shchit with some integrity and stop crying about your failings.

Did he cry though? That's the question. I just saw him make excuses, on my review of his posts he was talking about adding panels to his string while this schitt was underway already. That adds a bit of credibility to those who say he stiffed them. Not much but a little bit. It means he was getting panels, buying stuff while the company was already under. I didn't notice that little detail until yesterday.

When he went into the batteries business I thought to myself that he was taking a moerse chance. I was offered an opportunity to get into this business early in the year but I declined, because of the risk.

The other thing that worried me was when the hosting or whatever expired because the credit card was overdrawn. That is a major red flag. But I am no expert and certainly I have no say in the man's affairs or have appraisal of them. However I might still be wrong about everything so I am choosing now to keep quiet. Rather add something of value when I have value to add.

Generally what I do know is when the curator takes over in liquidation, it means everything becomes hands-off, untouchable, so he's likely sitting on his arse now looking for a job, because that's all he can do. He is now legally not allowed to reply to the people here and I remember this from long ago when a company I dealt with was put into liquidation. Radio silence is what happened and I only heard back years later when they offered me 10 cents in the Rand.

How's the weather there on your high horse?

If he had been around for a short amount of time before this and then pulled this stunt. I would too call him a "bozo". That said I used him more than once for items worth a good couple of thousand with zero issues over a period of a few years.

Surely if he was a "bozo" he could have forgone being a business and maximised his "bozoness" and screwed all on his initial shipping of batteries. That was a lot more than these few items of negligible value.

Sorry to people who got screwed on this but to say it was planned as a "bozo" is premature and uneducated.

Him telling everyone that everything is fine he just went on holiday, so that people would still place orders up till the last minute so that he could use their money to pay SARS is what makes him a bozo

This is what surprises me so much. A lot of people here seem to know so much about this business. What are you? Directors? Shareholders?
How do you know about whether SARS was paid, or not?

My condolences.

I’m still surprised by how forum users are eager to jump in and defend the guy after he’s scammed other people here.

@Suspect99 could have just said

scammers ...they throw a veil over peoples eyes

this was a brilliant story how the guy managed to build a relationship with many mybb people then ran with the money

Seems rational to me to only order what you can afford.
Sure, you won't get as rich as quickly as the guy who takes out a big loan to cover a massive order, but then you don't get into kark like this.

You won't go bankrupt if you don't spend more than you have.

Yeah no. He fkd people over and stole their money whilst having a jol.

If someone in future does business which involves ordering with customers money... Never engage in that business anyway rather with someone who already have stock in place.

Excellent advice. Problem here is nobody knew he was using their money to buy stock.

So who actually was ripped off and is owed money that they most likely will never see again? There's a lot of strong accusations going on here.
He could easily dispel them. I am sure the liquidators (if they exist) really don't mind him mentioning who the liquidators are. Is that a big state secret that effects the liquidation? Doubt it. He was the one that said he would post here giving more details. He didn't. Even if the if spoke out of turn and the liquidators weren't happy about it, he could easily post something to that effect here. He told people to email him for more details. I have email 3 times. So lots of questions and not a single answer. Seems very sus.

I placed an order and will most likely not recover the money. This is not the first time I used his services though so it was unexpected.

Good DayPackages are in the hands of our courier partners, these cannot be released as the couriers are part of the creditors and stock held by them is part of the liquidation process.
Kind Regards

What happened to my order Order #7433 was placed on 2 July 2024, STATUS: Processing.
I thought you were waiting for the seller to dispatch on the 10th July? That’s over a month ago.
